At BrothersKeepers, we are serious about doing what works. Participants tell us that our exciting, family inclusive retreats provide a deeper healing experience than ANYTHING else they have tried. That’s why we will never stop getting the word out! Here’s a quick look at what these life-changing events include:

Adaptive Sports = Disability without Limitation

What’s the most exciting thing you’ve done this year? Our retreat participants have got you beat. Together, with help from other non-profits such as the National Ability Center in Park City, UT, we’re redefining the boundaries of what’s possible for guys with even the most severe physical disabilities. Here are just a few of the cool things we can do at our retreats:

  • Tandem sky diving

  • Hunting/fishing

  • Rock climbing

  • Snow skiing

  • Target practice (firearms and archery)

  • Mountain biking

  • Safari rides

  • Tubing

Comradery in the Face of Tragedy

BrothersKeepers hosts these events to give families a chance to get away from daily stress and reconnect. We love seeing them get excited about life again, but the downtime between jumping out of planes and blowing stuff up is where the real transformation happens. This is a place where everyone understands how hard it is to get on with life after a disabling event. It’s safe to be honest and raw here. It’s also fine to laugh, sing songs, play music, and share great chow. Friendships forged around the campfire help carry families through the hard times still ahead.

Do you know a wounded veteran, first responder, or Gold Star family that needs our help, or do you want to learn more about why BrothersKeepers was founded?

“BrothersKeepers helped me and my children do something recreational together, something I thought was no longer possible since my service to this country has put me in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. I love each and every one of the people who made it happen, and now have a new family to turn to! Thank you all from the deepest parts of my heart. The possibilities are now endless!” – William Hamlit, U.S. Marine Corp
